The connector walkway between Battlefield Street and the walking trail is complete and awaiting additional dirt work and grass seed. The parking lot is complete and the driveway approach from Franklin Avenue to the parking lot and the picnic shelter are in progress.
The City of Springfield’s Neighborhood Works capital improvement grant program granted $199,000 for the project, funding a new asphalt parking lot, new picnic shelter and picnic tables, and a paved walkway connecting the park’s existing loop trail to Battlefield Road.
