Phelps Grove Art in the Garden Tour June 11

The Phelps Neighborhood Association was formed in 1989. It started with two neighbors sitting on a front porch talking about their love of the neighborhood but recognizing problems that needed to be addressed.   As they talked, they realized they needed to organize the neighborhood.

Many years later our association of neighbors remains strong. Phelps Grove continuously works with city leaders and staff on opportunities and problems in the neighborhood. We work with Missouri State University leaders, as they are our immediate neighbors to the north and have a significant impact on our neighborhood. Some of the events Phelps Grove has had include homes tours, yard waste clean-ups, concerts in the park and garden tours

Phelps Grove will host our 3rd annual Art in the Garden Tour 1-4 p.m. Sunday, June 11.

We select volunteer residents to show off their gardens where local artists display their works.  It is a walkable tour that lets you see our quaint homes and beautiful trees and landscaping as you go to each Art in the Garden site. The tour costs only $10If you live in the neighborhood, your ticket cost goes toward a membership to the Phelps Neighborhood Association. This year, we intend to donate a portion of the proceeds to the Springfield-Greene County Park Board to help take care of the trees and plants in Springfield parks.

We hope to see you at Art in the Garden in June.
