Westside Neighborhood Night Out @ Westport Park
Sep 12 @ 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Neighborhood Night Out is an annual event that is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness while strengthening neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. Neighborhood residents are encouraged to turn on their porch lights during the evening as a show of unity. Other activities include cookouts, visits from police officers, informational booths, children’s games and activities, and live music. Neighborhood Night Out is the result of a partnership between Community Partnership of the Ozarks, the Springfield Police Department, the City of Springfield, the Springfield-Greene County Park Board, and neighborhood associations.

Westside Neighborhood Cleanup @ Study Alternative School
May 9 @ 8:00 am – 8:15 am

Residents and/or property owners in the Westside neighborhood are invited to participate in the spring neighborhood clean-up. The City and the neighborhood association encourages residents to take advantage of this free and convenient opportunity to dispose of trash, brush and metal. Residents are encouraged to address overgrown fence rows, backyards and alleys adjacent to your property by mowing, cutting down, trimming and disposing of all brush and related debris.

Each year, neighborhood clean-ups serve approximately 900 households and remove over 175 tons of bulk waste (furniture, mattresses, etc.) and brush from Springfield neighborhoods. The clean-ups take place outside, rain or shine. Curbside pickup is not available.
