Unity of Springfield to host 7th annual Earth Day celebration April 19-20

Partnering with Springfield Community Gardens, Unity of Springfield will host the 7th annual Planet Unity Earth Day Celebration. This event will be 6-9 p.m. Friday, April 19 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, April 20.

Friday evening will kick off with live music by George Hunt and The Blues Society of the Ozarks jam band. There will be food, beer, wine and games. Saturday is the main event and will have live music all day with a variety of local artists. There will also be a drumming circle, earth-friendly vendors, food, beer/wine, expert speakers and kids activities. Dickerson Park Zoo will present “One Planet Many Animals” and have live animals on site.

Springfield Community Gardens will be on site all day Saturday with information and activities for all ages. The purpose of this event is to come together as a community and raise awareness about what each of us can do to better protect our planet. So, bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on and join us for a day filled with great music, great food, and great fun.
