The annual Robberson Neighborhood Car Show and Ice Cream Social on May 18 was an exciting and memorable event this year, filled with activities and delicious treats for everyone. The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the impressive display of 10 beautifully restored and maintained cars. The lineup featured a fascinating journey through automotive history, with a stunning Ford Model A capturing the essence of a bygone era and a sleek 20th-century Corvette representing the pinnacle of modern design and engineering.
Adding to the lively atmosphere, our dedicated local Scout troop set up a booth where they served hot dogs and soda. This was more than just a tasty snack – it was a heartfelt fundraiser to help them gather funds for essential repairs to their equipment trailer. Meanwhile, the Robberson Neighborhood Association (RNA) ensured everyone stayed cool and refreshed by handing out free ice cream and bottles of water to all attendees, making the hot summer day much more enjoyable.
The event also featured an interactive component, as visitors were given the opportunity to cast their votes for their favorite car in the show. This friendly competition culminated in the awarding of first, second and third-place prizes for “People’s Choice” awards. The car owners were thrilled to receive recognition from the community, and it added an extra layer of excitement to the day.
