Community Partnership of the Ozarks’ Caring Communities hosted a neighborhood leadership summit Saturday, March 24 at Central Christian Church. The purpose of the summit was to educate neighborhoods on the roles and responsibilities of neighborhood board and officers, effective meeting strategies, handling conflict, visioning and goal setting, communication and event planning.
The summit was a success with 20 participants representing 11 neighborhoods in attendance. Participants had the opportunity to share with, and learn from one another, as well as discuss challenges and successes of their neighborhoods.
Caring Communities felt the need to plan the Leadership Summit with two new neighborhood associations (Delaware and Meador Park) having formed within the last year, and several experienced neighborhoods having elected new leadership. It was a great time to pull everyone together to share and learn from one another, while discussing ways to tackle the issues that many are facing in their neighborhoods.
