Step back in time and stroll through some of Springfield’s finest historic homes all dressed for the holidays! Encounter Midtown residents dressed in period Victorian clothing and get decorating ideas. We have a very exciting variety with five homes, the historic Eurasia Coffee & Tea building on Commercial and Sacred Heart Church all built during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.
What: Midtown’s 26th Annual Victorian Christmas Homes Tour with five homes, historic Central High School and historic Sacred Heart Church with a crafts fair.
Where: Drury Diversity Center in the historic Washington Avenue Baptist Church (corner of Drury Lane & Bob Barker Blvd., built in 1885). Shuttles will be available from the Diversity Center to all stops.
When: Friday, December 1, 5pm to 9pm & Saturday, December 2, 12 noon to 5pm.
Tickets: $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Tickets on sale Nov 27-Dec 1 (4pm), at the following locations: Maschino’s, Enterprise Lanes, Sunshine Lanes and Midtown Pharmacy (811 E. Division St). Tickets will be available during the tour at Drury Diversity Center and Sacred Heart Church.
Craft Fair: Visit the 12th annual Sacred Heart Church Craft Sale (1609 N. Summit, 417-869-3646, built in 1882), 5-9 p.m. Friday evening Dec. 1 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday Dec. 2. See many local crafters with great Christmas gift ideas!
Parking: Please park in the lot adjacent to the Drury Diversity Center or in the lot directly across the street. We do not recommend street parking, traffic may become a little congested.
This event occurs within the Midtown Historic District which is Springfield’s largest nationally recognized historic district and is sponsored by the Midtown Neighborhood Association.
