Four neighborhoods came together to tidy up on a beautiful, sunny May 18. Thirty-one people registered on site to volunteer, and we filled 12 dumpsters with trash and four with brush over four intense hours. The Computer Recycling Center and the Habitat for Humanity ReStore were there, as well as two metals recyclers.
One hundred fourteen individual households came in person, with many making multiple trips, and waiting for access to the dumpsters. Close to 100 households were served through curbside pick-ups including sweeps of alleys.
All in all, it was a lovely day of recycling, reuse, and cleaning up the neighborhoods.
Delaware Community Garden offers lovely outdoor space for meetings and more
With the beautiful spring weather in abundance, Delaware is taking advantage of a jewel in our neighborhood – the Delaware Community Garden. Our May potluck meeting and our June catered meeting with live music were held there. The garden coordinators and volunteers do a fantastic job of involving our neighborhood and being great stewards of the space!
