In total, approximately 56,000 people participated in this year’s Birthplace of Route 66 Festival. An estimated 5,000 die hards braved the pop-up showers to watch and participate in the parade, an additional 20,000 people gathered for the show on Friday from noon to close, and about 31,000 came out today. More than 600 vehicles registered for this year’s car show, and about 500 lined up for the parade.
