At Noon on May 15, 2022, King’s Way United Methodist Church will host a city-wide community event known as Spring Field Day on the church’s South Lone Pine campus.
During the Spring Field Day event, KWUMC will have a variety of activities and events for guests to engage with. Lawn games, live music, a T-Shirt tie-dye station, inflatables, and food trucks are just some of the activities to engage with during the churches 3-hour long community event.
“Our hope is that this event is helpful to our community,” says Cheyenne Weaver, the church’s Director of Communication. “We want to offer an event individuals and families with small children can participate in together and with other families in our community – an event that won’t break the bank.”
Almost all the activities at Spring Field Day are free to those that attend, but opportunities to purchase snacks and drinks from local vendors will also be available. The church hopes to promote and encourage community members to work, play, serve, Worship, and buy locally.
“The desire to connect with our community is strong at King’s Way,” says Karen Hayden, Lead Pastor. “We hope this event, dedicated to fellowship and loving our neighbors, is welcoming to everyone in the community!”
Spring Field Day is in conjunction with the church’s student confirmation activities. Students ages 12 and older go through a 5-month program where they learn about the Christian faith, church history, the United Methodist Church, Scripture, and theological positions pivotal to Christian faith practices. Those who participated in the 2022 confirmation process will be confirmed during Sunday morning Worship activities, and their families are encouraged to celebrate their child’s confirmation by attending Spring Field Day events.
The event is subject to change, move, or be cancelled in the event of weather challenges.
Those interested in attending this event are encouraged to follow the church’s social media pages and website for updates about the event and to monitor any changes due to weather.
