On the heels of launching its first round of programming with the Block Challenge Grant Program and Down Payment Assistance Program, Restore SGF is seeking a permanent, full-time executive director. Restore SGF executive committee chair Richard Ollis said the board of directors hopes to begin interviewing candidates before the holidays and have the position filled by mid-January 2024.
“(Interim Executive Director) Dana Elwell has done a fantastic job with getting Restore SGF off the ground and will help us make the transition to a permanent director,” Ollis said. “Dana’s experience in lending and his interest in making Springfield better have been invaluable to our success thus far and we wish him well.”
Elwell has served as interim executive director since July.
About the position
The executive director provides visionary leadership and management in carrying out the purpose and policies of Restore SGF as established by the board of directors and guided by neighborhood revitalization plans. The executive director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization, as well as marketing and community outreach.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of community/regional issues and a knowledge of philanthropy, fundraising, and strategic planning. They will also be successful in prospecting, cultivating and building collaborative partnerships along with strong organizational and excellent time management skills.
