Midtown neighbor renovates home with HELP from City, businesses

The City of Springfield was happy to help veteran Larry Rottmann with a Homeowner Emergency Loan Program (HELP) loan to fix up his property in Midtown recently. Larry received seven new windows, soffit and fascia work, a new garbage disposal and new kitchen faucet through the City’s HELP program.

“We partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Springfield, MO and RL Building and Remodeling for the HELP portion. Habitat applied for Owens Corning Roofing’s Roof Deployment Project on Larry’s behalf. The City initially planned to pay for the new gutters with the HELP program; however, during the roof replacement that was provided by Southern Roofing and Renovations MissouriGladiator Exteriors owner Troy Wisdom wanted to help as well and donated the gutters and installation, freeing up the HELP funds to do the additional windows, faucet and garbage disposal,” said Lisa Gateley, a loan technician in the City’s Planning & Development department.
