Habitat for Humanity of Springfield recognized Woodland Heights Neighborhood Association President Becky Volz with a Helping Hands Award at its annual Hearts and Hammers Awards Luncheon Nov. 5, 2019 at University Plaza.
The Helping Hands Award is given to individuals or organizations that volunteers time to builds, Neighborhood Revitalization projects, administrative help, special events, committee work and more. These honorees have made it possible for us to make an impact in the lives of our neighbors.
Becky has been a huge help to us here at Habitat in our neighborhood revitalization efforts. She has been a long-time Woodland Heights resident and community leader. If you aren’t aware, Woodland Heights is currently our partner neighborhood for our neighborhood revitalization efforts, so we have gotten to work closely with Becky! She has also serves on the Springfield Council of PTAs, Neighborhood Advisory Council, Woodland Heights Neighborhood Association board, and most recently the Forward SGF Advisory Team. We have seen firsthand that she is always there to help a stranger, neighbor, or friend, and she doesn’t do it for the recognition. She truly just cares about building a better community.
