Queen City Graphix joins BNA
BNA welcomes Queen City Graphix, located at 1852 S. Stewart, as its newest business member. QCG has donated embroidered BNA polo shirts and is supporting other BNA activities with its products which include a full range of custom screen printed and embroidered apparel and other items. Proprietor Jeremy Boyts, who grew up in northwest Springfield, has a genuine interest in doing his part to help strengthen neighborhoods throughout the city. We look forward to building a stronger relationship with Jeremy and QCG.
BNA and Neat Neighborhoods
BNA has been making good on its mission to improve safety, cleanliness and beauty in our neighborhood. Our efforts have been guided and adjusted over the years by a series of surveys of Bissett residents to gain input about areas of concern within the neighborhood, including needs for improvements to streets, sidewalks, L.A. Wise Park and other areas. Our most recent survey was conducted in May with residents indicating the need to continue improving the only entrance into Bissett from the south, Hillcrest Avenue from Chestnut Expressway to Nichols, and to continue efforts to keep Nichols Street clean. A general membership meeting was held June 11 to present and discuss findings. Results have been formulated into a plan that we anticipate will engage BNA members as well as Eden Village and a growing list of business members. Clean Green Springfield’s newly launched Neat Neighborhoods competition is coming at the perfect time to help us build momentum and continuing success in accomplishing our mission.
Neighborhood Yard Sale Saturday, July 20
This year’s big sale is set for 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, July 20. Dubbed the YardZale, residents throughout the neighborhood will conduct their own yard sales, so buyers can come to our neighborhood and see many sales. Come out, have some fun and come away with some great buys! We’ll have information available on FaceBook and elsewhere, or just come to the neighborhood on the day of the sale and look for the many YardZale signs. If you stop at one of the sales, just ask for a free map of all the other participating homes. If you live in Bissett and would like to participate, call Sheila at 417-988-2840. She’ll fill you in on how you can register your home for the sale and get one of those fancy YardZale signs put up in your yard for the event!
