Brock Rowe named interim director of City of Springfield Building Development Services department

Brock Rowe has been named interim director of the City of Springfield’s Building Development Services department. He most recently served as assistant director. Rowe grew up in the Ozarks, earning an associate of arts degree from North Arkansas College in Harrison, Arkansas and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Arkansas.

He has extensive experience in the building trades, working for 18 years in construction as a carpenter and a foreman for construction projects all over northwest Arkansas and southwest Missouri. He transitioned to a career in code enforcement and became a building inspector for the City of Branson, where he acquired eight International Code Council certifications. Since joining the City of Springfield, he has earned a Certified Floodplain Managers Certification from the Association of State Floodplain Managers and is currently completing a master of science degree in construction management from the University of Arkansas through the College of Engineering. 

“In the time I have spent at the City of Springfield the staff has become my family. I value each staff member and I am very excited to lead this team,” Rowe said. “I will continue to value their input and continue to support them as we navigate through day-to-day activities and into the future.”
