Community Partnership of the Ozarks invites residents of north side neighborhoods to a Map Your Community event at the O’Reilly Center for Hope 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 29. This will be a great opportunity to tell the state redistricting commissions what matters to you.
Too often, new district map lines have been drawn in Missouri without real public input and without truly honoring our communities. The Missouri Mapping Project is working to change that. Using new technology to engage communities from every corner of the state we are working to document where and how Missourians live in community, so that we can be fully and adequately represented in the new Congressional, state senate, and state house district lines that will be drawn ahead of 2022 elections.
League of Women Voters of Southwest Missouri will be at the event doing voter registrations, and the community organizer for Fair Maps Missouri, Lucas Kirk, will join us virtually to talk about the Missouri Open Mapping project. Seating is limited, please call Rachel Tripp to RSVP – 417-888-2020 ext. 128. Event details and registration can also be found on Community Partnership of the Ozark’s Facebook page: @CPOzarks.
