The April 4 Bradford Park Neighborhood Cleanup will be my last activity as the president of the Bradford Park Neighborhood Association. I want to stay active in the neighborhood and will continue to serve on the board and attend the NAC meetings.
I have been at the helm since the City helped organize us 12 years ago. I’ve learned a lot about our Springfield City government as well as made life lasting friendships. My right hand has been Janet Wall. She is a best friend and super neighbor. She will also be stepping away from the Bradford Park board, so we will need to fill the roles of both president and vice president in April.
I feel that it is time for new leadership. I am running out of ideas! I look forward to supporting the new chain of command as we go into 2020. This neighborhood has been so supportive to the association and we have accomplished so much. I am so proud of our team work!
We will continue to give Great Neighbor awards. We have had great response to this program. The neighbors love to brag on acts of kindness that take place in the neighborhood. Please call Joyce Messerly at 417-887-2885 if you would like to nominate a neighbor for a Great Neighbor award.
The association will not meet again until February. We will resume our usual third Wednesday meeting schedule at 6:30 p.m., Feb. 18 at Immaculate Conception.
