DoubleTree by Hilton breaks ground on Springfield’s newest convention center

O’Reilly Hospitality Management LLC, Killian Construction and local dignitaries broke ground June 5 for Glendalough Convention Center addition to the DoubleTree by Hilton Springfield, 2431 N. Glenstone. The new convention center, which is set to be complete this year, will be able to accommodate a wide range of events meetings, conferences, and special occasions for up to 600 people. With this addition, the Doubletree complex will have 21,500 square feet of meeting space.

“With the growth and development of north Springfield, introducing a state-of-the art convention space will be key to growing the city’s capacity to attract more conventions and large-scale business,” said Darren Harralson, regional director of operations for O’Reilly Hospitality Management, LLC. “Hilton Worldwide and O’Reilly Hospitality Management are recognized as leaders in hospitality and we are excited to add the Glendalough Convention Center to our portfolio.”

The DoubleTree by Hilton Springfield provides guests with a full complement of services and amenities, including 201 deluxe guest rooms, heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool and Whirlpool, on-site Houlihan’s Restaurant, 24-hour fitness center, and business center.
