New Reed Academy taking shape

“Reed is very excited about our new building and what it will mean to our students, staff and families,” said Bret Ingle, principal. “There have been extensive conversations with our teachers and administration during the planning phases, and we can’t wait to see those ideas come to fruition.”

The new elementary school will be built on the campus of the former Reed Academy on the corner of Atlantic and Lyon. The new $60 million facility will be home to innovative fine and performing arts experiences for middle school students.

“The original Reed building served this community well for 100 years,” said Dr. Grenita Lathan, superintendent. “That legacy will continue to be honored in this new building’s design and by future generations of students who will walk its halls.”
