Tammy Mitchell, school nurse for Reed Academy, received an Honored Nurse Award April 19 at the 9th annual Springfield News-Leader Salute to Nurses Awards Luncheon. Tammy has worked for SPS for more than 19 years, working with middle school students. Mitchell says she wanted to be a nurse because she “liked the idea of caring for people.” Mitchell and other award winners will be featured in the April 30 edition of the Springfield News-Leader.
