After a wet spring, the contractor for the Republic Road Widening and Campbell Avenue Intersection Project was able to move forward with final paving operations for the project in late May, allowing for final work within the roadway to wrap up.
Following the paving, the intersection of Republic Road and Campbell Avenue will be restriped to a new lane alignment. Motorists traveling through the intersection are encouraged to pay attention to new markings as lanes may have shifted from the locations drivers were previously accustomed to.
The roadway portion of the project was expected to be complete with traffic returning to normal driving conditions in early June. Some sidewalk construction on the northeast portion of the project and work outside the roadway is still anticipated to last into July due to subcontractor scheduling.
