The UHNA Cowboy Crew was out in force at the corner or Clay Avenue and Bennett Street, cheering on runners in the 2024 Bass Pro Shops Conservation Marathon. It was a good day for rustling leaves but not so much rustling cattle!

On Oct. 5, 2024. local Realtor and historian Richard Crabtree led a neighborhood “walk and talk” for Phelps Grove Park, pointing out the location of the zoo and architectural nuances of the pavilion and nearby Springfield Art Museum columns, stage, and former lake and swimming hole. The event was attended by about 30 folks from Phelps Grove, University Heights and nearby neighborhoods.
