Community Partnership of the Ozarks is excited to partner with The Dream Center, Drury University, Missouri State University and Senior Age to offer a day of free tax preparation. Tax-A-Palooza will be Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at the Dream Center, 829 W. Atlantic St. This event aims to increase the number of families receiving free tax help and raise awareness about tax credits for working families.
Federal and state tax returns will be prepared by IRS-certified volunteers from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointment and walk-in spots will be available.
Last year was such a success for Tax-a-palooza and we are excited to offer this event again. Our goal is to prepare more than 200 tax returns and hopefully bring back thousands in federal refunds to our clients and our community.
This free event is offered through Community Partnership’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and Senior Age’s Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program. Eligibility restrictions apply, including:
- earned less than $55,000 in 2018 OR are over age 60
- did not declare bankruptcy in 2018
- do not own rental property or have farm income
We are so grateful to our volunteers and partners. We wouldn’t be able to make this happen without them, especially the Dream Center for allowing us to use their amazing space.
Additional eligibility restrictions may apply. To learn more or to make a tax preparation appointment, please call 417-720-2000.
